Position Summary:

Samsung is looking for world class Java developer to join our technology innovation group focused on the rapid development of cloud based end-to-end mobile applications and payment services. This is an exciting area for Samsung: Cloud based service platforms and infrastructure to support mobility.

Responsibilities Include:

Implement, maintain and evolve cloud-based products and services
Integrate with external customer and 3rd-party systems
Perform extensive research and analysis to make optimal architecture and design decisions
Write well designed, testable, efficient code
Write documentation
Interface with other groups including Product Management, QA and Operations
Be the technical lead for major parts of the system
Mentor junior developers

Experience Requirements:

BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Experience in server development using Spring Framework and Java EE in AWS
Strong skills in one or more of: Java 8/Tomcat/Java EE, Spring Boot
Hands-on understanding of scalability and high availability
At least 2 years hands-on experience with analyzing and addressing application performance bottlenecks
Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, Couchbase/MongoDB
Apache, Nginx, HAProxy
Expertise in Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS)
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
Familiarity with build tools such as Ant, Maven, and Gradle
Familiar with various design and architectural patterns
Strong familiarity with Junit Unit Testing
Apache Kafka
Amazon Web Services
REST API Design
Continuous Build, Jenkins
Optional Requirements: Gradle and Kotlin experience

Communication skills:

Skilled in interpersonal communication, with an arsenal of listening, negotiation, problem-solving and team-building skills at the ready.

Educational Attainment:

Bachelor's degree preferably in an Engineering / IT related course
