They maintain a large fleet of medium to heavy duty trucks and off-road construction equipment at our Detroit construction yard. The Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs to company diesel and gas powered vehicles and equipment.Hours 6 30am - 5pmWhy join us?Hourly Rate Up To $30/hr + Guaranteed 10 hours of OT per weekPerks• $4,000 sign on bonus, paid in $500 installments (Sign-on bonus contingent upon continued employment).• Full paid Medical benefits package that includes medical & prescription coverage, dental, and vision plans for employees and their qualifying family members (eligible after 90 days employment).• Group term life insurance, long-term disability, and flexible spending accounts offered to eligible employees.• 6 days of Holiday PTO. 1 week of vacation PTO after 90 days employment. Additional vacation time available based on shop need and seniority.• Retirement benefits including a 401(k) plan with up to 4% employer match (eligible after 6 months of employment).• $1,800 per year tool allowance, paid out in monthly installments.• $300 annual boot reimbursement or apply credit to tool allowance program.• CES provided uniform and laundry service.• Employee development through company mechanical and safety training.Job DetailsKey Tasks & Responsibilities• Responsible for preventative maintenance tasks on company equipment, vehicles, trucks, and trailers.• Preventative maintenance including tires, wheels, brakes, air systems, starting systems, electric systems, and suspensions.• Test, diagnose, and repair problems with vehicles and equipment.• Disassemble units, reassemble units, and replace nonfunctioning parts.• Maintain records of serviced vehicles and equipment.• Maintain a clean and organized work area.Requirements• At least 2 years of previous mechanical experience.• Experience with air brakes, hydraulic systems, and electric systems.• Experience with diesel and off-road construction equipment.• Valid chauffer’s license required.• CDL license preferred. CDL training reimbursement available to qualified candidates.• Ability to pass drug-screening and MVR check.Interested in hearing more?
