In the end, that is what matters most of all.Job DetailsWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Estate Planning and Administration Paralegal to join our esteemed legal team in New York.This role is pivotal in supporting our Estate Planning Department, focusing on the preparation and execution of estate plans, as well as managing the administration of estates and trusts.The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of estate planning principles and a passion for helping clients secure their legacies.• Estate Planning Document PreparationDraft, review, and finalize essential estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare proxies to ensure comprehensive and compliant estate plans.• Client Consultation SupportAssist attorneys in client meetings by gathering necessary information to understand clients’ goals and needs, and providing insights on estate planning strategies.• Asset Inventory and ValuationCompile and assess the inventory of estate assets, including real estate, financial accounts, and personal property, ensuring accurate valuations for effective planning and administration.• Probate and Trust AdministrationManage the probate process for estates, including the preparation of necessary court filings, communication with beneficiaries, and oversight of trust administration tasks.• Tax Planning and ComplianceCollaborate with attorneys to prepare estate, gift, and income tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations and optimizing tax strategies for clients.• Post-Mortem PlanningAssist in post-mortem estate planning strategies, including the transfer of assets to beneficiaries and the implementation of tax-saving measures.• Research and UpdatesStay informed on changes in estate planning laws and regulations, conducting research to support the firm’s practice and enhance client services.• Additional DutiesPerform other job-related tasks as assigned and provide support to attorneys as needed.QualificationsA minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal in estate planning and administration. Candidates with a strong background in tax law or financial planning are encouraged to apply.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
