This full-time, permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to manage financial operations for a variety of properties, including shopping centers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the general ledger, executing year-end close procedures, and overseeing all aspects of property accounting. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.ResponsibilitiesAs a Property Accountant, your responsibilities will include• Managing all financial operations for assigned properties, including but not limited to, income collection, cost control, and profitability optimization.• Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.• Maintaining the general ledger and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.• Overseeing the year-end close process, including preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with all accounting standards and regulations.• Collaborating with property management teams to develop budgets, forecast revenues and expenses, and analyze financial performance.• Conducting regular audits of financial operations to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.• Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and other statutory filings.• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments in property accounting.QualificationsThe ideal candidate for the Property Accountant role will have the following qualifications• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.• A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably within the construction industry.• Proven experience with general ledger functions, year-end close procedures, and property accounting for shopping centers.• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.• Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the financial management of our properties.
