In this role, you will be responsible for preparing comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects ranging from $5 million to $20 million in value.Why join us?Responsibilities• Thoroughly review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify scope of work and required resources• Conduct quantitative takeoffs and pricing for all trades including concrete, masonry, steel, carpentry, finishes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing• Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluate bids, and negotiate costs• Develop detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs• Identify potential risks, constructability issues, and value engineering opportunities• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other team members to ensure accurate and competitive bid pricing• Prepare and submit bid proposals, including estimates, clarifications, and alternates• Continuously update and maintain estimating database and historical cost records• Assist in buyout process and subcontractor/vendor negotiations for awarded projectsJob DetailsQualifications• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)• Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, WinEst, Timberline, etc.)• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously• Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices• Knowledge of local labor rates, material costs, and market conditions• Familiarity with construction contracts, specifications, and bid documentsInterested in hearing more?
