As a key member of our organization, you will play a significant role in the strategic tax planning, preparation, and compliance for our diverse portfolio, which includes not for profit, government, and municipal entities. You will be responsible for handling complex tax matters, ensuring compliance with USFR and ACFRs, and providing expert advice on tax implications of our business decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned tax professional who is looking to leverage their skills and experience in a challenging and rewarding environment.Responsibilities• Manage the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns for not for profit, government, and municipal entities, including Form 990 and 501c filings.• Provide expert advice on tax matters to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders, including tax planning, tax compliance, and tax accounting.• Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues and develop solutions to minimize tax liabilities and risks.• Ensure compliance with USFR and ACFRs and stay abreast of current tax laws and regulations.• Work closely with the finance team to understand business transactions and ensure appropriate tax treatment.• Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements and reports, including governmental and non-profit accounting.• Participate in the development and implementation of tax strategies and initiatives to support business objectives.• Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as needed.Qualifications• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Masters or LLM is preferred.• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.• Extensive knowledge of not for profit tax, government tax, and municipal tax.• Experience with grant schools, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting.• Strong understanding of USFR compliance, 501c, Form 990, and ACFRs.• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.• High level of integrity and professionalism.• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and tax preparation software.Join our team and leverage your expertise in a role that offers professional growth and competitive compensation.
