Full job description
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the SE Works WorkSource Assistant Director, this position plays an integral part of a strong WorkSource Center team and is responsible for providing comprehensive services and excellent customer service for the job seekers we serve. This position is multi-faceted with a heavy customer facing role and requires an individual with strong customer service and communication skills. Additionally, this person is responsible for delivering employment-related workshops, job referrals, job search assistance, information about community resources, and training resources.
SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Assist customers in creating plans that identify training and employment goals and specific steps that will result in employment
- Identify training and supportive service needs from participants, such as skills upgrades, education, and general support services; provide information and referrals to a variety of WorkSource programs and services.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment to ensure customers receive the highest level of customer service and appropriate services
- Work in collaboration with Aligned Partner Network Career Coaches to assist their customers accessing WorkSource products and services
- Assist customers with completion of documentation
- Develop and deliver a variety of employment and training workshops
- Navigate customers through WorkSource products and services
- Maintain and update data tracking databases (I-Trac and iMatchSkills)
- Maintain regular communication with customers engaged in training and job search activities. Document communication and progress.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Relevant experience can be considered in place of a degree.
- At least two years' experience in workforce development, education, and/or training, social work, or human resources field
- Demonstrable experience working with the public
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
- Strong presentation skills to deliver a variety of workshops clearly and concisely
- Knowledge and experience using data systems and technology
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively and address customer concerns and issues
- Demonstrated expertise in assisting individuals to develop employment, training, and supportive service plans, and providing on-going support as they work to achieve employment goals
- Knowledge of area second chance employers
- Knowledge of training providers, human service agencies, and community groups
- Excellent organizational skills, strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with people from diverse backgrounds; familiarity with class and cultural issues.
- The ability to speak, read, and write at a level sufficient to fulfill the duties assigned.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to get the job done
- Calm and organized approach to work and deadlines.
- Strong problem solving and group work leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Workforce Development

Working conditions:
This position requires sitting for extended periods of time, constant interruptions, high stress levels due to nature of work, requires intensive concentration. This position requires frequent sitting, and occasional standing, walking, and driving, use of finger movements; ordinary talking, ability to read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason and analyze constantly. A computer and standard office equipment is used daily.
