Data Protection Officer

We are looking for a skilled Data Protection Officer (DPO) to lead and oversee our compliance with data protection laws, including GDPR. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in safeguarding personal data, managing privacy risks, and ensuring our business operates in line with all relevant regulations. As an expert in data protection, you will provide guidance, training, and support to employees and stakeholders while collaborating with various departments to implement effective compliance measures. Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws.
  • Conduct privacy risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and develop solutions.
  • Manage records of data processing activities and data mapping.
  • Stay updated on data protection laws and ensure company-wide compliance.
  • Train employees and raise awareness about GDPR and data protection.
  • Handle data subject requests (e.g., access or deletion requests) efficiently and in line with legal requirements.
  • Oversee GDPR compliance controls and implement improvements as needed.
  • Collaborate with teams to address data security and privacy concerns.
  • Investigate and report data breaches, including liaising with authorities.
  • Manage internal and external audits related to data protection.
  • Work closely with the Legal & Compliance team on compliance tasks like license applications, agreements, and customer disputes.
  • Keep accurate and compliant records of all data-related activities.

  • Qualified lawyer with certifications in data protection.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role (experience in a tech-heavy environment is a plus).
  • Expert knowledge of GDPR, data protection laws, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of technology and data processes.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
