OVERVIEW
Equilar, Inc. ("Equilar") recently moved to the cloud, and we are expanding our product offering in order to grow our business. To keep up with the changes, Equilar is looking for a motivated Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer to assist with cloud buildout, code deployment, increasing our security landscape, monitoring services, and assisting on various projects related to our product and staff. The Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer will work closely with all members of the IT team. This is a full-time, hybrid position in Redwood City, CA requiring employees to be in the office three days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work alongside our Senior Release Engineer to streamline and manage code deployments, improve scripts, and maintain tools for Development-
Monitor applications for network and staff endpoint problems and or vulnerabilities, and provide guidance or resolution

Diagnose and troubleshoot issues across the entire software stack

Review and analyze system logs, identify potential issues with systems, and implement improvements

Help maintain and troubleshoot networks

Enforce systems, IT policies, and procedures

Provide secondary staff support
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field-
1-3 years in an Engineering or technical role

Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Ruby)

Experience in CI/CD (Java, Maven, and Jenkins OR Docker, Helm, and Terraform)

Strong in Windows or Macintosh administration and configuration
-
Proficient in Linux and using the command line

Excellent organization and attention to detail

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Successful at working individually and as part of a team culture

A strong thirst for knowledge
DESIRED
Proficient in at least one commonly used programming language (Python, Java, JavaScript)-
Proficient in scripting Terraform or Helm

Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

CompTIA certification or similar industry certification

Experience with cloud management (preferably GCP)

Knowledgeable in administering Google Workspace

Experienced in operational automation

Experience with one or more software version control systems (Git, Subversion, etc.)

Experience with server virtualization technologies such as VMWare Server/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V/Virtual Server

Salary range: $75 - $90k/year
