The Role: Junior Sales Representative – Desktop & Channels Solutions

The Team: The Desktop & Channels team represents several of our flagship products in the S&P Capital IQ/Pro Desktop and Xpressfeed/API/Marketplace channel solutions. Together, they represent over $1.3B in annual revenue and are seeing significant growth based on continued expansion of content, delivery and capabilities.

The Impact: As the Desktop & Channels (DC) Sales Specialist for Capital Markets, you are to work across the Suite of products distributed via desktop, bulk delivery or API via data distribution channels.

The client segment will be across Capital Markets, with a focus on Investment Management. Through proactive prospection of new and/or expanded use cases, you are to diagnose client requirements, define pricing frameworks and look to combine various solutions across the wider organization as you engage with other Sales Specialists to both identify further opportunities and maximize growth across your accounts and territory, leveraging alignment on incentives and goals to deliver an exceptional client experience.

You will also have access to a wide range of resources to support you and help you to perform against your objectives. These include Customer Success Mangers, Product Managers, Product Specialists, Application Specialists, Renewal Enablement and Sales Education. This role represents a fantastic opportunity to execute and deliver revenue across our flagship products, work closely with our Sales Specialist partners across other business units to provide forward thinking solutions and provide the chosen individual with great exposure as they look to grow their career in this company .

Responsibilities:
  • Overall responsibility of New Business Sales and expanding the book of business across new and existing product expansion.
  • Manage day to day client relationship, product renewal and pricing for Desktop & Channels product suite
  • Lead relationship management activities and provide best-in-class client service in order to expand user adoption, further integrate services into client workflow, and ensure a high level of client satisfaction
  • Engage and collaborate with other business units to ensure an enhanced client experience through team selling
  • Work closely with your business development/Product Specialist partners to identify new opportunities, new use cases within the designated territory and evolve pricing models
  • Negotiate contract terms and pricing structures
  • Uncover new cross-divisional synergies opportunities and contribute to product innovation
  • Maintain focused approach to daily sales activity pipelines and systems-based workflow (i.e. Salesforce.com)
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
  • 2+ years in Client Services
  • Independent, self-starter capable of working without onsite managerial support
  • Strong business acumen with relevant industry experience
  • Team player with an ability to collaborate across functional and geographic boundaries
  • Experience selling complex data and/or technology solutions to financial institutions
  • Confidence in approaching new markets, navigating, and owning a territory and dealing with C-Level executives
  • Strong communication, organization, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Salesforce Skills recommended; MS office skills required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience selling complex data and/or technology solutions to financial institutions
  • Experience selling as an Individual Contributor with consistent results

Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $92,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
