L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Junior, Software Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Rochester, NY facility and offers a 9/80 and Hrbrid work schedule.

Job Description:

Responsible for research, design, and development of embedded software systems. Requires the application of the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Consults with electrical, RF, and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements of the overall system. Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of prior related experience. Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Master’s Degree with 0-2 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient with C/C++, object-oriented design, real-time, multi-threaded programming.
• Familiarity with real time and multi-threaded software design.
• Familiar with Windows and Linux computing environments.
• Familiar with Continuous Integration and Test (CIT) and DevOps concepts.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems of moderate scope/complexity in existing software systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment; excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written).
• Familiarity with code and process management concepts (CMMI) and tools.
• Experience with wireless networking software system design and development.
• Familiarity with RF concepts and technology.
