About This Role:
The K-State 105 director leads engagement with communities, economic groups, industry, government and educational institutions across Kansas to connect stakeholders with resources to stimulate and drive economic growth. The incumbent works to leverage networks of support, technical solutions, business creation and workforce development, enabling partners to create jobs, identify investment resources, develop new business and identify technical assistance. The director evaluates and monitors the program's effectiveness, communicates outcomes to stakeholders and adjusts tactics as needed to meet program goals. Reports to the Senior Vice President for Executive Affairs, University Engagement and Partnerships, and Chief of Staff (SVP/COS).

What You'll Need to Succeed:Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience successfully building new programs guided only by high-level outcomes and expectations.
Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Agility in the legislative process.
Drive for excellence in execution, problem solving and conflict management.
Experience successfully building cross-industry partnerships and collaborations between institutions of higher education, businesses, regional economic groups and community stakeholders.
Experience leading successful engagement initiatives related to economic development and prosperity.
Demonstrated experience influencing and leading groups without formal authority.
Experience identifying and garnering extramural funding for program support.
Outstanding written and oral communication to include comfort in giving polished presentations.
Proven ability to exercise considerable tact, judgment, confidentiality and diplomacy.
Master's degree.
Ability to interact effectively in a diverse, multi-cultural environment, and with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders such as local units of government.
Working knowledge of or ability to quickly learn the university's areas of strength.
Understanding of and commitment to the K-State Principles of Community.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the state of Kansas and nationally.
