Implements patient care activities under the direction of the registered nurse
Essential Responsibilities (The primary job duties this position is responsible for achieving are listed in order of importance.)
Obtains, records, and reports vital signs on patients as directed. Document’s data collected per standards. Collects and reports data to RN for development of plans for meeting patient/family needs. Implements and documents safe, therapeutic, and efficient care as directed by RN. Supports appropriate priorities for patient care. Anticipates need for emotional support. Supports the psychological, social, spiritual, and cultural needs of the patient and family. Takes preventative measures in giving patient care: Protects skin and mucous membranes. Protects patients from falls or other contact injuries. Uses positioning and/or exercise to prevent injury or the complications of immobility. Removes/reports environmental hazards in the patient care area. Implements interventions appropriate to specific age groups and developmental status of patients. Encourages patient/family to participate in treatments as directed. Provides transport to and from nursing units. Observes, records, and reports patient/family response to nursing care. Maintains call light within patient's reach and uses designated communication mechanism for patients with impaired hearing, speaking skills, or language barriers.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Current BLS certification required.
Basic Qualifications:
Must be a NA or student with one semester in clinical setting or six months experience as an NA.
Must have experience in the OR as a nursing assistant.
Good oral and written communication skills, including legible handwriting.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams required.
