We seek an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Business Systems Analyst. In this role, you will work with Product Owners, Stakeholders, and the Project team to clearly define business requirements and current/future state processes, identify and elaborate opportunities and future state vision, evaluate potential solutions, and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of requirements in the delivery of the preferred solution.
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for evaluating business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and translating business requirements into effective technology solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and IT professionals.
Responsibilities:
Work with Product Owners, Stakeholders, and Project team to clearly define business requirements and current/future state processes, identify and elaborate opportunities and future state vision, evaluate potential solutions, and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of requirements in the delivery of the preferred solution.
Identify applicable vendors and conduct a comparative analysis of their products and services.
Analyze and document data discrepancies, potential areas for improvement, risks, and system integrations, utilizing industry-standard notation and methodologies.
Conduct system and business capability gap analysis.
Determine key stakeholders and gain an understanding of their motivations, needs, and interests in terms of the value to be created.
Elicit and analyze business requirements, document user stories, contribute to Functional Design Documents and test case design.
Support decisions made by stakeholders regarding priorities and trade-offs through the creation and communication of information that articulates benefits, constraints, risks, and complexity.
Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization: business user, architect, developer, test analyst, project manager, business sponsor, senior management.
Apply the appropriate BA methodology and toolsets meeting the delivery lifecycle employed by the Alloy initiative: Agile; BPMN.
Analyze project scope for dependencies (between epics, underlying systems) and provide input to project planning to minimize delivery risk.
Provide the link between strategy and executing, delivering of the Alloy project initiatives and objectives.
Work Experience:
7+ years of related experience working in a similar or related role within a medium to large enterprise with complex technology environments.
Post-secondary degree in information technology, sciences, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience working as a Business Systems Analyst to deliver out-of-the-box solutions to business sponsors and stakeholders, employing Agile.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Expertise in Elicitation, Analysis and Management of requirements and business processes for use in product implementation, custom development, and product procurement assessments (RFI/RFP).
Experience in Identifying and documenting data gaps, opportunities, risks, and integrations using industry-standard notation.
Experience in conducting system and business capability gap analysis.
Experience in Identifying applicable vendors and conducting a comparative analysis of their products and services.
Experience in organizing and facilitating of structured workshops to elicit and capture requirements from Product Owners and Stakeholders.
Excellent skills in Business Process Analysis, Business Process documentation (As-Is), design (To-Be) and delivery (As-Built) employing appropriate methods to illustrate key management information: Swimlane, Value Stream; Event process chain;
Experience with Agile User Story (Who-What-Why; Gherkin syntax) writing and classic requirements writing for clarity, testability, and traceability.
Expertise in using MS Office; Visio; Business Process Management (BPM) tools (such as ARIS), MS SharePoint, MS Teams, Azure DevOps, or similar.
Experience with CRM, Field Service Management, POS, eCommerce processes and implementation is considered an asset.
Ability to take the initiative to engage the business and technical leadership to drive results and meet critical deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal: clear, concise, and jargon-free, with the ability to communicate the concepts and details to customers and team members.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Previous ERP and MS D365 implementation experience is considered an asset.
IIBA CCBA or CBAP, Agile Analysis Certification, Certified Agile Business Analyst desirable
