Job DescriptionTransport of critically ill infants, delivery room coverage, level one delivery coverage, must be NNP, NRP, NCC, able to fly in fixed wing and helicopter, rotate days and nights, ability to learn life saving procedures, intubation and chest tube placementMinimum or Preferred Qualifications(NNP/PNP/FNP) Graduate from an accredited Midwife or relevant NP program required. Current NYS registration as a Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner required. Two (2) years of clinical experience in specialty area of practice (Critical Care) as RN or NP preferred. ANCC or national certification in area of specialty required within Six (6) months of hire. ANCC or national certification in area of specialty required within Six (6) months of hire/transfer into position, effective 2-28-17. Those employees currently employed without certification in their area of specialty will not be allowed to work in areas with Medicare Part B patients. Agreement from appropriate physician to enter into a collaborative agreement. Certified Transport Nurse in cost centers 10087 and 13722 only – BLS and NRP certifications required upon hire. Must become STABLE certified 4 years from date of hire. Must become certified NRP instructor 4 years from date of hire. Attains Mercy Flight required education in Air Flight patient transport within 90 days of starting position and required to maintain annual Mercy Flight Education and competency inclusive of physical requirements for external transport of patients via helicopter, fixed wing, and/or ground transportation. Flight crew members are required at time of hire/transfer and must maintain thereafter to weigh 240 pounds or less including flight suit with boots, helmet and additional equipment normally carried in flight suit. Existing OCH Stabilization Unit/STAT Team members as of 7/01/21 who do not meet the required weight, will have until 10/01/21 to be in compliance with the required weight limit.
