WHAT YOU’LL DO:


As a cutting-edge technology company, we are seeking a skilled Senior Insider Threat Analyst to join our dynamic security team. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization’s sensitive information and intellectual property by identifying and mitigating insider threats. In this role, you will develop and implement insider threat detection programs, analyze patterns of suspicious behavior, and ensure robust processes to prevent data leaks and unauthorized access. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance the security posture of the organization and provide expert insights into internal threat scenarios.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:


We are looking for a highly technical and analytical professional who can navigate complex security challenges, particularly in environments with vast amounts of data. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of designing and refining insider threat detection processes. Previous experience in security operations, DLP (Data Loss Prevention), and insider threat monitoring is required. The role demands strong communication skills, the ability to manage security initiatives, and the capability to work autonomously while driving results.

This position is remote eligible or our cutting-edge Miami office


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Use of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools to detect and prevent insider threats, ensuring data protection and minimizing risks of information leaks.
  • Insider Threat Incident management and triage including Containment and Eradication of confirmed threats.
  • Collaborate with affected parties to ensure Insider Threat remediation steps are taken.
  • Communication of Insider Threat incidents to stakeholders as necessary.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting.
  • Conduct proactive and ad-hoc threat hunts for malicious insider activity.
  • Identify suspicious activity, potential incidents, and respond to security events in real-time.
  • Assist in creating dashboards, reports, and analytics that track insider threat activities and provide clear visibility into data protection metrics.
  • Lead and participate in data protection initiatives focused on identifying and mitigating potential insider threats.
  • Perform additional tasks related to insider threat detection and response as needed.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for off-hours support when required.
  • Provide consistent guidance and mentorship to junior analyst.

 

 

 

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


Moderate domain knowledge covering broad set of facets for role and responsibilities. Has wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and best practices to resolve issues in creative ways

 

  • Extensive experience in insider threat detection and managing DLP solutions to prevent unauthorized data access or leaks.
  • Strong understanding of information security principles and knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices.
  • Extensive Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of information security principles and insider threat methodologies, along with knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices.
  • Experience with various DLP tools and insider threat detection technologies.
  • Familiarity with insider threat indicators, and understanding of vulnerability management and incident response concepts.
  • Experience working in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Ability to analyze insider threat behaviors and effectively respond to security issues.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly articulate security policies and procedures to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance insider threat detection and response capabilities.
  • Commitment to staying current with insider threat trends, emerging risks, and new security technologies.
  • Ability to track, manage, and resolve insider threat incidents through ticketing systems.
  • Understanding of incident management and change management practices.
  • Leadership skills to mentor junior analysts and guide them in insider threat detection and response efforts.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

 

  • Prior experience as an Insider Threat Analyst, or a similar role focused on preventing internal data misuse or breaches.
  • Strong understanding of insider threat methodologies, data protection risks, and best practices to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and platforms, with a focus on insider threat detection and response.
  • Proficiency in working with Linux and Windows operating systems to monitor and secure data access and activity.
  • Experience working in enterprise-level environments, managing large-scale data protection efforts and insider threat initiatives.
  • Foundational understanding of networking principles, particularly as they relate to data protection and insider threats.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex security issues related to unauthorized access or suspicious insider behavior.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to clearly document and explain insider threat processes and findings.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, particularly when responding to insider incidents.
  • A strong work ethic and an insatiable desire to continuously learn and stay current with insider threat tactics and tools.
  • A collaborative mindset, thriving in a team-based environment with a focus on shared success and open communication.
  • A commitment to continuously improving the organization’s insider threat detection and response capabilities.
  • Ensuring insider threat concerns are addressed in all security platforms and processes.
  • Advocating for the best practices in insider threat detection and prevention across the organization, and developing processes and documentation to enforce them.
  • Identifying trends and patterns in insider behavior that indicate broader risks or require long-term solutions.
  • Championing best practices for insider threat detection, working closely with leadership and teams to protect the organization’s assets.
