Job Overview
Are you ready to steer the sales helm of a rapidly expanding company in the scientific arena? We are on the lookout for a seasoned Sales Executive with a skill for innovation and a passion for science to join our team. As our Director of Sales and Customer Relations, you will have the opportunity to build and lead your own high-caliber sales team, unlocking new market potentials, and driving substantial revenue growth in the scientific industry.
This is a ground-floor opportunity to develop calculated sales initiatives, nurture customer relations with our esteemed clients like Fisher Scientific, Avantor/VWR and various U.S. government agencies, and build a robust sales infrastructure, while being supported by the resources of an established company.
Your Role
• Develop and execute cutting-edge sales strategies specifically tailored for the scientific field, ensuring alignment with our ambitious goals.
• Craft and maintain strong relationships with key clients in the scientific community, including prestigious organizations and various U.S. government agencies.
• Utilize your expertise to understand and integrate company brand strategy into your sales approach, tailoring strategies to meet diverse market demands.
• Lead a sales team with precision, understanding the distinct profiles, compensation structures, and territories vital for peak performance in the scientific sector.

Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following
Execution, Sales & Development:
• Drive Sales Growth: Develop innovative sales strategies, cultivate market awareness, and champion the company's value proposition to consistently exceed revenue targets.
• Be a Strategic Sales Leader: Possess a deep understanding of the competitive landscape, leverage CRM expertise for insightful forecasting, and advocate for company interests in relevant organizations.
• Embrace Continuous Improvement: Foster a growth mindset, readily adapt to changing market dynamics, and continuously seek ways to improve sales processes and personal development.
Customers
• Cultivate Customer Advocacy: Collaborate across teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences, foster strong relationships, and leverage customer insights to drive product development and position the company as a trusted partner.
Data & Analytics:
• Scientific Sales Strategist: Leverage deep scientific knowledge, data analytics, and market trends to develop innovative sales strategies, identify growth opportunities, and create a robust pipeline for science-driven products.
• Data-Driven Forecaster: Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports, utilizing scientific market insights to inform senior leadership.
• Customer-Centric Sales Professional: Develop and implement tailored pricing strategies catering to the scientific market while maintaining strong customer relationships and adhering to company policies.
Collaboration & Team:
• Spearhead Scientific Sales Growth: Foster collaboration with marketing and product teams on innovative campaigns, lead a high-performing scientific sales force, and ensure regular communication with leadership on sales performance and scientific market trends.
What Success In This Role Looks Like
The vision of success for this role is to generate sales revenue and build a sales infrastructure that will help the business achieve its goal of reaching $100mm. This includes identifying new business opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and building a high performing sales team that is customer-focused and responsive to changing market needs.
1st 180 Days: In the first 90 days, the Sales Executive will need to focus on several key areas. They will need to finalize the top highest potential accounts, develop a strategy for each account, transition B2B sales responsibilities, and ensure that the same disciplines and practices are applied across both B2C and B2B segments.
• Drive B2C initiatives: actively hunt deals and start nurturing customer relationships. Your goal is to feed and expand our CRM with valuable leads.
• Achieve $250K in sales: hit the ground running with a clear target of generating $250,000 in sales.
• Create a hiring strategy for hiring a representative: Develop a strategic approach to build a top-notch sales team.
• Hire at least one sales representative: onboard at least one, if not more, sales representatives to strengthen our team.
• Funding through team growth: the new reps will be funded by the success and growth of the team.
• Lead the B2C customer support team: take charge of the B2C customer support team, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
2nd 180 Days
• Expand the sales team: continue to grow your team to at least 2-3 representatives, with a collective goal of approaching $1 million in sales.
• Manage the B2B team: take over the leadership of the B2B team, bringing your expertise to this crucial segment.
• Develop a B2B growth strategy: lay the groundwork for a robust B2B growth strategy, ensuring long-term success.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field, with a preference for candidates possessing scientific knowledge or background.
• Minimum 7 years of sales experience with at least 4 years in a leadership role, demonstrating success in exceeding sales targets and driving growth, particularly in scientific or technically oriented markets.
• Strong leadership abilities, characterized by a visionary, decisive, and innovative approach, along with the skills to motivate and develop a scientifically inclined team.
• Strategic thinking capabilities, including the ability to critically analyze data, identify trends, develop long-term strategies, and adapt to evolving scientific advancements.
• Excellent communication skills, adept in both written and verbal communication, with the ability to effectively engage with team members, customers, and senior leadership.
• Proficient problem-solving skills, capable of identifying complex issues and devising creative solutions.
• Customer-focused, with a talent for building strong relationships and understanding customer needs to provide effective solutions, especially in complex scientific scenarios.
• High adaptability, able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Technical proficiency in CRM tools and sales automation systems, familiarity in e-commerce platforms and basic computer skills. Experience in scientific sales is a plus.
• Self-starter attitude, with a passion for sales and the initiative to identify and tackle problems independently, while contributing innovative ideas for growth.
• Collaborative nature, skilled in working with cross-functional teams, building relationships, and finding common ground to achieve shared objectives.
