Craft Services HR Specialist Location Houston, TX : Requisition ID: 170290 Job Level: Entry Level Home District/Group: DHO HR Operations Department: Human Resources Market: Corporate Home Office Employment Type: Full Time POSITION OVERVIEWWe are adding a Field Operations HR Specialist to our team to support our Kiewit construction divisions around the country. In this role, you can expect to go where the work is and "stand up HR functions" at construction project sites around the country! You will be responsible for delivering HR functions and actions aligning with business objectives at our various project field locations. You will work as part of the on-site project HR team delivering human resource-related support to the Regional Office Projects teams that include both Staff and Craft (union and non-union) employees. Our HR Operations specialists act as employee champions, and change agents as they support all hiring, onboarding and employee services for our project teams. You will be expected to maintain an effective level of business knowledge about the Project schedules of completion, key performance indices, current objectives, culture, and competition, in order to support employees transferring to the site or new hires moving to the site. We're always pushing new limits. You can too. DISTRICT OVERVIEWHR Operations is an integral partner and service provider at Kiewit. In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence. Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization. In this role, you will be a member of our HR Operations team, supporting various divisions within Kiewit. LOCATIONThis position will initially be in our Houston Texas office area, for onboarding/training, then moving to projects around the country. We provide relocation to/from our projects. RESPONSIBILITIESCraft Employee Related Functions:• Work with Leaders on the projects and utilize project/schedule data to determine future craft needs• Prepare requisitions for craft hiring and work closely with the off-site craft recruiting team to staff the project• Schedule and conduct craft orientation, assist with completion of all new hire paperwork, I-9 documentation, and required paperwork for the project and ensure documentation is submitted through appropriate channels. Will work closely with jobsite supervisors to ensure all paperwork for employees are up to date and compliant.• Assist new hires with Benefits Enrollment• Process hiring actions in SAP with Kiewit Business Services (KBS)• Review and Track Craft Performance Development, as well as process promotions and pay actions/increases for employees, working with our Kiewit Business Services Team.• Oversee and maintain project-wide database information• Work closely with jobsite supervision on processing separations for exiting employees• Maintain records as required by the project team.Project Training Related Functions:• Maintain project rosters, training records and databases• Work with operations to determine training needs, coordinate training across the Project with multiple groups, & maintain a project-wide training calendar, providing visibility to leadership of statusStaff Related Functions - Recruiting:• Work closely with our Experienced Recruiter to help source and move candidates through the interview and hire process.• Build external network across the industry in the region to help recruiter identify potential pools of candidates to staff positions.QUALIFICATIONS• Bachelor's degree or Associates Degree n Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred. High School Degree required.• Minimum of 1+ years of related project HR experience required• Experience working on a construction site preferred, experience working with craft employees preferred• Ability to communicate and influence individuals and groups to gain buy-in and acceptance of new ideas and approaches• Proven ability to take the initiative and build strong and productive business relationships with all levels of staff• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and MS Teams - Intermediate formula knowledge to compare/review different sets of data, pivot tables, formatting• Willingness to work on site at construction project, working possible 10 hour shift and support project 2nd shifts and occasional weekends if necessary.• Interest in long term mobility with Kiewit, with a willingness to relocate to other areas in the US in the future#LI-JB1 Other Requirements:• Regular, reliable attendance• Work productively and meet deadlines timely• Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.• Perform work safely and effectively.
