We are seeking a talented and experienced Private Chef to manage and operate our on-site office kitchen, catering to up to 100 employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing delicious and healthy meals, managing inventory, and running efficient lunch service.
Responsibilities:
Plan and create diverse and appealing menus that cater to various dietary requirements and preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and kosher options.
Prepare, cook, and serve high-quality lunch, and snack items on a daily basis. Lunch service should include at least an entree and a side and accommodate all dietary requirements.
Manage inventory by ordering, receiving, and storing raw materials and supplies, with a focus on healthy, sustainable, local, and organic ingredients when possible.
Ensure proper food storage, handling, and disposal in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen, adhering to sanitation and hygiene standards.
Collaborate with the office management team to plan menus, accommodate special events, and address any dietary concerns. Additional kitchen equipment can be ordered as needed.
Control food costs by minimizing waste, optimizing portion sizes, and efficiently using ingredients.
Continuously improve and update menu offerings based on feedback and culinary trends.
Maintain accurate records of inventory, purchases, and food consumption.
Requirements:
Culinary degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
At least 5 years of experience as a professional chef, preferably in a catering or corporate dining setting.
Expertise in a variety of cuisines and cooking techniques.
Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Knowledge of nutrition and experience in creating healthy, balanced meals.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with the office management team.
Valid food handler's certification and familiarity with food safety regulations.
Passion for culinary arts, creativity, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Work Schedule: The chef will work Monday through Friday with negotiable hours. Occasional evenings may be required for special events.
Compensation and Benefits: We offer a competitive pay ranging from: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Kitchen Equipment: Our on-site kitchen is well-equipped with a commercial 6-burner Wolf range and oven. The chef will be expected to recommend new equipment for company purchase to upgrade the kitchen as needed.
