Kin is seeking a Director, Sales in the homeowner’s insurance space. This person will join an established Director team as a co-leader for a salesforce of 18 Managers and 200 Agents. A successful Director is fiercely motivated to hit goals, can solve problems, envision solutions, and enforce policies and procedures in a collaborative fashion.

This individual will help foster a positive, engaging environment while putting an emphasis on customers and internal teams alike. You have a passion for developing people and success stories to back it up. Success in this area requires the ability to lay out structured expectations as well as the ability to be creative in motivating large groups of people.

Kin’s most important value is “Running through Walls Together”. This way of working requires partnership, collaboration, and compromise. This Director will be one of 3 running the department, so the ability to pass the baton at various junctures requires compromise and openness. Our Directors must be comfortable working in an environment with shared decision-making.

We are a data-driven Company. You must have the experience and aptitude to work with data sets to make decisions. Ideally, you have experience working in LOOKER, Tableau, or SFDC. The ability to work in Google Sheets with foundational knowledge in building and manipulating spreadsheets is necessary. This role will include working as a contributor with finance & the VP on commission plans, delivery, and administration.

A day in the life could include…

  • Directly leading and mentoring a team of 5-7 Sales Managers, overseeing approximately 70 Agents to drive sales performance and achieve targets.

  • Collaborating closely with Sales Directors, RevOps, Underwriting, Workforce Management & QA to ensure consistent processes, procedures, and cohesiveness across all sales teams.

  • Conducting weekly Manager huddles to keep teams informed on product updates and regulatory changes, fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptability.

  • Maximizing agent capacity and capabilities by working closely with Workforce Management, ensuring optimal productivity and efficiency.

  • Engaging in monthly calibration sessions with the Finance team to execute commission plans, evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs), and analyze sales trends for continuous improvement.

  • Strategizing with Business Intelligence (BI) to develop reporting needs and metrics that enhance and strengthen departmental performance.

  • Shaping, implementing, and enforcing HR policies and procedures relevant to Sales Agents by collaborating with co-leaders, promoting a positive and compliant work environment.

I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?

  • 5+ years of Sales Management experience and overseeing operations managers.

  • 2+ years of specialized experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance sales, demonstrating a deep understanding of industry dynamics.

  • A genuine enthusiasm for sales, leadership, and mentorship, with a track record of inspiring and developing high-performing teams in call-center environments.

  • Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to interpret and leverage diverse data sets to drive strategic decisions and improve sales outcomes.

  • Proven track record of driving growth through empowering Sales Managers and instilling repeatable, measurable sales practices; you are a classically trained sales professional who has a structured methodology for closing a sale.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate seamlessly with all departments and teams within Kin.

  • Skilled in using GSuite, CRMs, and telephony systems alongside analytical tools such as LOOKER or Tableau

  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically, using insights to make informed decisions that align with organizational goals and drive growth.

  • A commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs, enhancing their experience, and building long-term relationships.
