We are currently looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Data and Analytics team. Kin at its core is built on data, this team is not only providing analytics about what happened in the past but utilizing data to predict the now and the future! As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a key role in the analytic/discovery process across the organization. You will be identifying and prioritizing problems throughout the organization, developing and providing actionable solutions, and communicating those results to business partners.
In order to be successful for this role, you will need to be creative, empathetic, self-directed, and curious. You will be able to learn quickly about our customers (both internal and external), and be excited to propose solutions that drive customer satisfaction. Using your influence and persuasion with internal stakeholders to align on and adopt these solutions is critical for success in this role.
Work with databases to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data for analysis. Ensure data quality and accuracy
Create comprehensive diagnostic dashboards and reports to efficiently monitor and communicate the performance of Insurance KPIs
Leading discovery sessions to gain insights into the business and understand the most pressing problems that require data-centric solutions (ex. Development of scorecards to measure efficiency, loss expenses analysis)
Designing and implementing advanced analytic models for accurate and efficient analytics (ex. Analyzing claims descriptions to predict losses, customer response sentiment)
Utilizing analytical tools for process automation, enhancing data-driven decision-making capabilities (i.e Looker, SQL, Python, other ETL and BI tools)
Leverage the results of analysis to make predictions and help guide business strategy
Sharing key learnings with leadership, your development team, and the broader company
Creating and managing prioritized analytical product roadmaps of epics that address the biggest business needs and meaningfully impact our OKRs (Objectives/Key Results)
Writing user stories that provide all of the details needed by our development teams to develop data products
Working with other data fluent teams to define, evangelize, and monitor metrics that demonstrate success
Mentoring junior analysts on analytics best practices and technical optimization
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field or equivalent professional experience
5+ years of work experience in analytics, insurance or equivalent analytical experience
Prior experience in the insurance industry with a solid understanding of insurance financials, claims processes, and data applications
Advanced skills in SQL with a proven track record to independently query data from disparate sources
Familiarity with ETL processes: structuring new datasets and data-pipelines to meet business needs
Moderate experience in Python for data analysis and transformation
Experience working with data visualization tools (EX: Looker/Tableau/Power BI)
Strong business acumen to make sense of and bring logic to data
Ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into concrete action plans
Experience owning process management or process improvement projects
Ability to communicate with empathy and precision to gain alignment with internal stakeholders
Ability to effectively communicate with engineering about technical features and product architecture
Bachelor's Degree in Insurance or Risk Management
Prior experience in the insurance industry with an understanding of insurance financials, claims, and data applications
Comfortable in a startup environment or working with ambiguity. Fintech/Insurtech a plus.
Prior experience using dbt to deploy and manage data pipelines
