So what's the role?
Are you passionate about uncovering the truth and navigating the complexities of claim investigations? At Kin Insurance, we are expanding our claims team and looking for a dedicated Claims SIU Investigator to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our claims process.
As a Claims SIU Investigator, you will play a crucial role in detecting and preventing fraud. Your day-to-day will involve conducting thorough investigations into suspicious insurance claims, gathering and analyzing evidence such as documents and surveillance footage, and interviewing claimants and witnesses.
You will help to craft detailed reports of your findings, stay current with federal and state laws, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including claims adjusters and legal teams, to coordinate efforts. Additionally, you have the chance to identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices in investigative procedures.
If you have high-level analytical skills, a strong understanding of insurance policy language and regulations, and a drive to maintain the integrity of the insurance claims process, we want to hear from you. A day in the life could include:
Conducting thorough investigations into insurance claims displaying indicators of potential fraud or suspicious activity
Gathering and analyzing evidence, including documents, witness statements, and surveillance footage
Interviewing claimants, witnesses, and other relevant individuals to gather information
Preparing detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations for further action
Staying up-to-date with federal and state laws, industry trends, and best practices in fraud detection and investigation
Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders, including claims adjusters, legal teams, and other insurance professionals, to coordinate investigations
Identifying opportunities for process improvement and contributing to developing best practices in investigative procedures
I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?
3+ years of SIU residential property claims handling experience in one or more of the following areas: An insurance company employee whose primary purpose is the investigation of insurance fraud, a special agent of the National Insurance Crime Bureau or the Insurance Crime Prevention Bureau, or a full time investigator for a state fraud bureau
Prior claims adjusting experience within the 1st and 3rd party space
An outstanding understanding of the SIU process coupled with a strong knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and industry best practices
Ability to refine processes, drive and oversee change, alongside communicating effectively with peers and managers alike
Extremely detail-oriented and technically apt, with sound ability to adapt to departmental or regulatory changes and requests
A natural communicator who can effectively work with all departments and teams at Kin
Licensing Requirements
You will be expected to get your 620 license; Kin will provide this opportunity + licensure.
Work Location:
This is a remote opportunity. You will not need to come into the office for this role; if you live in Chicago or St. Petersburg, you are welcome to work in a hybrid capacity.
Catastrophe Requirements
All Claims employees are expected to be available in the event of a catastrophic event. Overtime and weekend shifts required.
