Quality Manager - Plastics Manufacturing (Automotive Industry)

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee the development and maintenance of an effective quality management system. This role is critical in ensuring that internal and external customer requirements are met, while optimizing quality, productivity, and safety across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee APQP and PPAP activities to ensure compliance with customer and engineering requirements for successful production launches.
- Manage the quality department team, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and scheduling.
- Ensure all purchased, in-process, and finished products are inspected according to QMS procedures.
- Train and coach employees to identify and meet relevant quality training needs.
- Actively participate in APQP project teams to support the successful launch of new projects.
- Implement best practices and capture Lessons Learned at the plant level.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the company to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Track key QMS metrics and develop action plans to maintain green metrics.
- Review customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and implement irreversible corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Leadership and Management:
- Drive plant activities toward achieving customer certifications and industry quality registrations.
- Oversee responses to customer actions to ensure timely and effective resolutions.
- Lead the integration and implementation of the QMS to prevent defects and meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate internal quality audits and corrective action plans for continuous improvement.
- Report abnormal quality KPIs and customer scorecards to the General Manager and Corporate Quality team.
- Collaborate with other managers to address day-to-day quality challenges and opportunities.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Occasionally travel to customer assembly plants to review products and interact with customer personnel.
- Ensure plant operations comply with all relevant quality standards and customer expectations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of plant-level quality management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience in plastics injection molding and assembly is highly preferred.

Physical Demands:
- Frequently standing or walking for extended periods.
