Staff Developer (Backend)

KOHO is looking for a Senior Staff Backend Engineer to join their team remotely in Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and scaling credit products for over 1 million users, guiding technical projects, and fostering a collaborative engineering culture.

Skills

Solid Golang skills or equivalent experience in a related language
Experience in building reliable and scalable distributed systems
Technical leadership qualities
User-focused mindset, preferably with experience in financial products
Ability to balance quality and velocity
Ownership of technical solutions from ideation to completion
Proficiency in working independently in a distributed team/remote environment

Responsibilities

Lead technical projects and ensure project delivery meets user and business expectations
Guide technical roadmap towards engineering excellence and scalability
Conduct POCs, gather system inputs, make data-driven decisions, and improve systems and domains
Foster cross-team collaboration and contribute to building a healthy engineering culture
