SDR Manager

About Kojo

It's time to build. Whether it's creating more housing, upgrading our infrastructure, or adapting to climate change, one thing is clear: the construction industry is at the center of solving our biggest problems. We’re making buildings cheaper and easier to build by transforming the way commercial construction companies buy their materials. Join us.

Founded in 2018, Kojo is now one of the fastest-growing construction technology companies in the world. Construction accounts for $10 trillion in global spend annually and we can’t live without its output - our roads, schools, hospitals, and offices. Despite this, there’s been very little innovation over the past 70 years in how materials - which constitute up to 40% of project costs - are bought and sold. This is our opportunity.

We’re looking for an amazing Sales Development Manager who will build and develop a dynamic and engaged SDR team who overachieve their goals of setting high quality opportunities for our AEs. This role works closely with our Sales leadership team, Revenue Operations, and Marketing. Our current SDR team is fully remote, and we are looking for a strategic driver who will help us build out our first ever in-person SDR team in either Austin, Denver, or Chicago, depending on the right candidate.

About the Role

This role will include:

  • Coach and manage a high-performing team of SDRs who consistently overachieve on ambitious goals and will become future AEs at Kojo

  • Own and drive execution of Kojo’s new business pipeline goals through a primarily outbound motion

  • Contribute context, analysis, and feedback to the Sales leadership team regarding top of funnel metrics and pipeline quality

  • Act as a strong and reliable business partner to the Sales Managers and collaborate to improve the opportunity qualification process, rules of engagement and handoffs to Account Executives

  • Partner closely with Sales Managers, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to collaborate on field events, targeted marketing campaigns, and personalized messaging and outbound communications

  • Hold SDRs accountable to optimizing their workflows for efficiency, documenting effectively, and keeping their systems up-to-date

  • Enable and train SDRs for new product launches, feature releases, and marketing campaigns, ensuring that SDRs have a robust understanding of Kojo’s ideal customer profile, our industry, and the value Kojo’s products provide to our customers

  • Propose incentives activities to boost engagement and productivity amongst the SDR team

  • Attract and hire high-caliber SDRs, accelerating their ramp time to productivity through in-depth onboarding and developing them towards becoming stellar AEs

  • Continuously “turn over rocks” and solve problems within the sales development domain and provide continuous feedback to cross-functional partners so that we all grow and improve as a team

  • Work closely with Operations to stand up an in-person office space, scale a local hiring strategy, and manage our first ever in-person SDR team while also managing a remote team

About You

What you’ve accomplished:

  • Have 3+ years of SDR leadership experience with a track record of excellence leading a high performing team, in a fast-growing B2B SaaS company

  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with Marketing and Revenue Operations on TOFU metrics and campaigns

  • Have experience and functional knowledge of SDR tech stack tools such as Salesforce, Gong, Outreach, etc.

  • Are excited by attracting, recruiting, developing and retaining world-class talent early in their Sales careers

  • Demonstrate excellent business acumen and understanding of company goals and the role you and your team play within the organization

  • Have a reputation with cross-functional teams as being collaborative, innovative, accountable, and reliable

  • Think big by working to achieve a deep understanding of the world of subcontractors and value selling practices

The compensation for this role is between $180,000 to $210,000 on target earnings, commensurate with experience and team quota.
