About the Role – You Will:
- Ensure the KPO operates with a safety-first culture and be the lead trainer for all KPO equipment and assembly processes.
- Lead audits for existing KPO built structures to ensure all standards are met; repairing or modifying as needed.
- Manage the work order requests by communicating with all levels of the organization to ensure the details of each request, manpower and material needs to complete work orders.
- Participate and lead teams during Kaizen Events that support the site strategic roadmap
- Initiate problem-solving efforts to identify root cause and generate possible solutions; Serve as a “go to” person when issues out of the norm arise.
- Demonstrate team skills such as conflict resolution, effective communication and ensuring that communication is flowed down through all the team members with the general positive attitude and receptivity to change in the workplace.
- Assist and lead other team members’ development through your knowledge of the processes, product, continuous improvement practices and skills; Awareness that the coordination of the effort of the individual team members is essential to the team’s overall success.
- Escalate any potential disciplinary issues or team conflicts to the appropriate Supervisor or Management member.
- Encourage and model active continuous improvement participation; Ensure that quality systems are being followed and escalate concerns to the appropriate resources.
- Work to ensure compliance with safety rules and programs and maintain a safe and clean work area (5S Standard); Escalate all unsafe conditions and practices to Supervisor or appropriate members of management immediately.

- This position will be part of the Greer based Production team that supports Proterra’s Manufacturing and Engineering operations in Greer, SC.
- You will report to the Lean Manager and collaborate with other Production team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and other manufacturing facility in Los Angeles, CA.

Your Experience Includes
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of leadership experience.
- 1-3 years’ proven experience in the ability to multi-task and manage non-routine situations.
- Knowledge in various manufacturing processes (mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, fabrication, welding, painting, composites and support functions).
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Environmental demands include the following but not limited to: wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment), works in extreme conditions (hot/cold) and works with irritant chemical or gases.
- Physical demands include the following but not limited to: walking, standing, crouching, bending, kneeling, lifting, carrying, reaching (in large and tight spaces).
- Be willing to work flexible hours as needed, including other shifts.
- Associate degree in a Technical or Business-related field, not required but preferred.
- Experience building structures with Flex Pipe, Creform, or other materials to support lean manufacturing operations, not required but preferred.
- Experience working on Kaizen or Continuous Improvement teams to implement lean manufacturing tools/concepts in a manufacturing environment, not required but preferred.
