The Compliance Associate, UK, will sit within the UK Compliance Team and be responsible for ensuring the performance of operational financial crime and compliance controls and processes within the firm.
Undertaking the Compliance Monitoring Plan, conducting testing and reporting results to the relevant committees on the results.
Reviewing marketing and sales literature, performance presentations, and other advertising or educational materials for compliance with applicable UK laws and regulations including the financial promotions regime.
Assisting with the handling of complaints in accordance with relevant requirements.
Monitor internal and external business, regulatory and technology environments to identify new or emerging compliance risks and verify remediation of issues as applicable
Supporting the UK team in responding to compliance related inquiries and due diligence requests from current or prospective banking partners.
Assisting senior management within the UK Compliance team with ad hoc and project work.
Monitor internal and external business, regulatory and technology environments to identify new or emerging compliance risks and verify remediation of issues as applicable
Coordinate and liaise with Kraken Global Compliance to ensure alignment between global, regional and local compliance policies, procedures, and operations, if needed.
Strong second-line Compliance experience in a previous senior position at a regulated MiFiD investment firm, MTF, bank, crypto exchange or payments firm
Knowledge of MLRs, MiFiD and EMRs is preferable.
Experience in compliance monitoring and testing.
Knowledge of the financial promotions regime and COBS4.
Demonstrated ability to effectively analyse risk and apply sound judgement in a timely manner
Practical knowledge of compliance risk management techniques
Proactive, organised and comfortable with navigating ambiguity
Clear communication and able to translate compliance requirements to other departments.
Comfortable with using data to inform decision making
