The Team

Kraken’s OTC desk is a market leader in one of the most innovative and fast growing industries in the world. We are known for our white-glove service, making markets for clients globally around the world 24/7. We have established ourselves as a dominant OTC desk for spot trading, built an options desk to service HNWI and institutions and have now recently launched a new crypto Lending business.

In the position of a Risk and Operational Analyst, your main tasks will include working closely with the lending team to interface with clients, manage the pricing and risk of lending activities, and handle operational aspects of settlement. You will also be exposed to the spot desks as well, occasionally assisting in the coverage of operations in certain areas when required.  The role will also entail hybrid responsibilities supporting senior management, OTC projects and other cross functional teams.

The Opportunity

• Cover day-to-day risk and operational management of the current OTC Lending business

• Provide white-glove sales relationship management and coverage for OTC’s Institutional and HNWI clients

• Pricing and contract negotiations for Lending and Borrowing transactions

• Assist in ad-hoc operational aspects including trade settlement, collateral monitoring, client inquiries and internal cross function inquiries  

• Initiate and lead client outreach initiatives to drive conversions for new OTC lending clients. This involves not only attracting new business to the Lending desk but also promoting the expansion of loan volume for existing clients.

• Formulate and implement robust risk management strategies and navigate challenges of the crypto lending business

• Monitor and evaluate operational processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and risk reduction

Skills you should HODL

• 2+ years experience with a crypto/blockchain firm and/or traditional financial services company

• Experience in risk analysis and management within the crypto or financial services industry

• Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment and ability to transition

• Good understanding of the current crypto landscape, lending markets (crypto and traditional), and blockchain technology

• Familiarity with industry-standard risk management tools and methodologies adapted for the crypto space

• Strong communication skills to convey complex risk concepts, manage client relationships and to work collaboratively with other teams

• Solid knowledge of operational processes specific to crypto lending and the ability to identify areas for improvement
