The Team

Sr. Atlassian Administrator will be responsible for the overall ownership and management of the Atlassian suite of products(primarily Jira, ServiceDesk and Confluence) at Kraken. This role will act as the administrator and engage with various business units within the organization to understand their needs to design, build, launch, and maintain various solutions using the power of Atlassian as a platform.

This role will act as the subject matter expert for Atlassian platform when it comes to building innovative solutions for Kraken using various Atlassian features and functionalities. This role will also be responsible for cross functionally engaging with various IT and security teams to own and manage the architecture and security aspects of Atlassian platform as well.

This role will proactively seek out opportunities to leverage new and upcoming features, functionalities, and offerings by Atlassian for the benefit of Kraken to improve efficiency, productivity and security. This role will play a critical role in defining and maintaining access controls, SOPs and maintenance of the platform as well. This role will engage in activities including platform administration for various Atlassian softwares, user access and permission management,  installation, configuration, workflow and workspace development, etc. The role will also provide technical expertise to expand and integrate existing softwares with other productivity tools & platforms, provide end user education and enable other teams to effectively use Atlassian  platform for making the best use of the platform and its capabilities.

The Opportunity

  • Gather requirements and design the best possible solution on Atlassian platform for various business teams to manage their work and projects in the most efficient manner using Jira and ServiceDesk

  • Develop and maintain best practices and governance for Confluence to be the document repository for various business functions

  • Work with business to identify gaps and opportunities in the current state to enhance and evolve the as is state of Jira, ServiceDesk and Confluence

  • Offer development support to business, IT and security teams for Jira, and ServiceDesks

  • Act as the SME and work with cross functional teams to assess, implement, test and  deploy 3rd party tools, plug-ins to be integrated with Atlassian

  • Work with business to design and implement Jira projects, workflows and screens for making an impact on end user experience and productivity

  • Define, implement and maintain strict RBAC for the Atlassian platform

  • Monitor the health and performance of Atlassian products periodically and work with backend engineers to apply timely patches for security and performance of the applications

  • Develop documentation, and provide end user training/demos to improve end user user experience and adoption

  • Run metrics and analyze usage and adoption of various applications

  • Provide end user support for issues and incidents by performing root cause analysis, raising cases with Atlassian and partnering with cross functional teams to fix and remediate them

  • Define and implement best practices and governance across Atlassian suite for areas including user access control, application permission management, integration, sandbox management, etc

Skills you should HODL

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience and expert knowledge of Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, Jira Service Desk

  • 3+ years’ experience administering and maintaining Atlassian suite of applications in the Data Center(DC) edition

  • Experience administering Atlassian on cloud products for a variety of stakeholders

  • Experience building custom solutions, integrations, and automation with Jira Software in complex and high volume environments

  • Strong familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and Agile at Scale principles

  • Ability to work independently, engage with business teams and prioritize/manage work for multiple stakeholders

  • Comfortable working on projects with ambiguity and able to handle multiple projects at the same time

  • Working experience implementing and supporting productivity applications, plugins, etc in the Atlassian world is a plus

  • Experience with implementing post functions, triggers and automation scripts

  • Experience writing JQL (Jira Query Language) for custom filters, reports, etc

  • Prior consulting experience is a plus

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Atlassian certification strongly preferred
