DescriptionThe Circuit Breaker Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting AQB and ACB type circuit breakers. This position involves making necessary connections, operating breakers, and performing switchboard modifications. By joining our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the functionality and safety of circuit breakers, while also gaining valuable experience and skills in a dynamic work environment.Skills• Proficient in troubleshooting AQB & ACB type circuit breakers• Ability to conduct electrical tests using multimeter, megger, hipot, and current injection sets• Strong reading and interpretation skills for schematic diagrams and specifications• Mechanical aptitude for teardown and assembly of breakers and related components• Ability to maintain DoD Clearance• Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbsResponsibilities• Troubleshoot AQB & ACB type circuit breakers and switchgear equipment• Perform teardown and assembly of breakers, bus work, and associated components• Conduct various electrical tests using specified equipment• Read and interpret schematic diagrams and work instructions• Make necessary connections and operate breakers• Carry out switchboard modifications as needed• Other duties as assigned by the supervisorQualifications• Requires highly developed job knowledge and skills typically obtained through education and experience• High School Diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years of prior Circuit Breaker experience, including three (3) years of rebuilding, repairing, and retrofitting breakers• Post-secondary/associates degree with four (4) years of prior Circuit Breaker experience, including three (3) years of rebuilding, repairing, and retrofitting breakers• Must be a US CitizenEducation Requirements• High School Diploma or equivalent• Post-secondary education preferredEducation Requirements Credential Category• Electrical Engineering or Technical Certification is preferred but not requiredExperience Requirements• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Circuit Breaker work, with specific experience in rebuilding, repairing, and retrofitting• Preferred experience includes three (3) years of 120V-416V shipboard electrical experience and proficiency with hand toolsWhy work in Norfolk, VANorfolk, VA is a vibrant city known for its rich maritime history, diverse culture, and waterfront views.
