Job Summary
Children's Research Institute is looking for a Lab Technical Assistant I to be responsible for the following departmental duties:
- Autoclaving
- Washing lab glassware
- Refilling reagents
- Making gels
- Managing gas tanks
- Managing the mouse procedure room
This position will support all labs in CRI and will have the opportunity to interact with everyone in the institute. The ideal candidate should be organized and be able to interact with a variety of people.
Experience and Education
- High school graduation or GED equivalent, and no experience required.
Job Duties
- Prepares laboratory specimens.
- Assembles and operates standard laboratory equipment.
- Collects and records data which may involve arithmetic computations.
- Prepares standard reagents and culture media.
- Examines experimentally infected laboratory animals to detect and record symptoms associated with variety of animal diseases.
- Weighs, positions, and performs pre-operative shaving of animals.
- Takes vital signs of animals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
