Responsibilities:
Product and component bioburden testing
Environmental monitoring
Product and component sterility testing
Bacterial endotoxin testing
Biological indicator testing
Cytotoxicity testing
Genetic microbial identification
Microbial examination of non-sterile product testing
Zone of inhibition testing
Other microbiology testing as required
Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications and Education:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science (microbiology preferred) or related scientific
discipline and 1+ years of previous laboratory experience.
Associate’s degree in Biological Science (microbiology preferred) or related scientific discipline and 5+ years of previous laboratory experience.
High school diploma and 8+ years of previous laboratory experience.
Good laboratory skills, along with a working knowledge of laboratory bench methods and equipment.
Understanding of laboratory instrumentation.
Computer literacy (database, word processing, spreadsheets, etc…) required for daily activities.
Good understanding of OSHA requirements, QSRs, GLPs, ISO, AAMI, and FDA Guidelines, as well as any other regulations / requirements as pertaining to the laboratory.
Must be able to perform daily duties with little incident of error, since errors may have severe regulatory / financial consequences.
Must have high initiative to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
