WSP is currently initiating a search for a for our Labratory Assisstant in our San Diego office. Be involved in projects with our Earth & Infastructure Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

This Opportunity

We are looking for motivated team-oriented individuals to help maintain and operate an aquatic toxicity laboratory in San Diego, CA. This position may require some flexibility with the work schedule. However, we can work with you on what hours work best for your schedule. A strong work ethic, organizational skills, attention to detail, and a fun and positive attitude are required.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience working in a laboratory environment. Experience can include glassware cleaning, working with chemicals, and performing basic lab procedures with meters and equipment. Work schedule may vary from week to week (more hours may be needed when busy). The potential new hire will primarily work around wastewater samples, natural seawater, and various marine and freshwater organisms.

Your Impact

• Cleaning glassware, plastics, and lab equipment
• Storing and organizing lab supplies and equipment
• Strictly follows instructions, standard lab practices or procedures, and adheres to personal protective practices within the laboratory
• Assisting the staff with basic lab practices and test preparations
• May include some microscope work, meter and equipment operation and calibration
  

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma minimum; current students can apply
• 0-1 years experience working in an aquatic toxicity testing laboratory

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in a laboratory or glassware cleaning position

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $20/hr- $22/hr

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law
