Job Description
Position Summary:
Performs routine procedures for lab and production to support daily operations under the supervision of the Lab Supervisor. This position requires entry level lab duties including preparation of samples and sensory sessions, performing limited lab analyses, and maintaining the lab and sensory suite in an orderly state.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Precise preparation of proof downs to support QC using dilution, measuring, and weighing techniques; exposure to lab blending to support NPD
  • Setup daily sensory evaluations by creating sensory sessions on the in-house database, pouring sample glasses, and providing the Sensory QA/NPD Manager with written overview of relevant sensory results
  • Participate in sensory training and maintain sensory competency
  • Clean-up of glassware after sensory sessions
  • Use of in-house software to create work orders for sample requests, sample receiving, sample labeling, and sample disposal
  • Daily maintenance of lab instrumentation to ensure longevity of instrumentation and precision and accuracy in measurements
  • Ability to perform lab distillations and sample runs on automated densitometers
  • Prepare samples for shipment for external analysis
  • Maintain inventories of necessary supplies in lab
  • Prepare samples for marketing/sales team, as requested
  • Serve as back-up operator for daily quality checks on bottling line
  • Participate in continual education programs and receive constructive feedback to enhance job performance and knowledge
  • Contribute to keeping a clean and organized work environment including all glassware cleaning cycles
  • Comply with safety regulations and procedures and use of personal protective equipment for working in a hazardous environment and with hazardous chemicals
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience in a laboratory setting, 1+ years preferred
  • Detail oriented and quality focused
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams in addition to multi-tasking
  • Experience with databases, spreadsheets, and word processing
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Works in warm/cold climates
  • Works in high places including use of step-stools and ladders
  • Works on wet surfaces
  • Is exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or toxic chemicals
  • Works near moving, mechanical parts and lift truck traffic
  • Must be able to move up to 55 lbs
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and work on a computer for extended periods. Lifting may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The salary range for this role is:
$17.90 - $27.41
This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
