Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionThe Vice President of Business Operations is a key member of the executive team and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of the company.This role ensures the efficient and effective management of company operations, including quality management, facilities management, human resources, security, enterprise systems, marketing, and contracts.The Vice President of Business Operations will work closely with other executives to align operational goals with company strategic objectives, focusing on optimizing processes, enhancing productivity, and ensuring the highest quality standards in the aerospace industry.This position is located on-site at the company's HQ (Ogden, UT) to facilitate face-to-face interactions with the operations staff, executive team, and Board of Directors (BOD).PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES• Operational Leadership• Develop and implement operational strategies to support the company's growth and objectives.• Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effective management of resources.• Lead and mentor a diverse team of directors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.• Quality Assurance• Drive a culture of quality across the operations team ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and work instructions.• Provide leadership to GMRE quality manager to implement and maintain quality policies and procedures.• Lead quality management system improvement initiatives.• Facilities Management• Ensure GMRE facilities are properly maintained providing a safe and functional work environment.• Human Resources• Provide leadership and guidance to Human resources personnel.• Drive process improvement to support business objectives through rigorous selection and retention of high-quality employees.• Security Management• Provide leadership and guidance to Security personnel.• Ensure GMRE meets all contractual and regulatory security requirements.• Enterprise Systems Management• Provide leadership and guidance to Enterprise Systems personnel.• Ensure GMRE business objectives are properly resourced by a robust information technology infrastructure.• Marketing• Provide leadership and guidance to Marketing personnel.• Ensure the company is properly branded to attract business.• Contracts• Provide leadership and guidance to Contracts personnel.• Ensure the contracts is fully integrated into the business; ensure support of business development, proposals, program execution and agreements.• Enterprise Forecasting and Planning• Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives.• Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate financial forecasting and reporting.• Collaborate with the executive team to develop long-term business plans.• Analyze market trends and operational data to drive strategic decision-making.• Cross-Functional Collaboration• Partner with business units to align operational activities with business goals.• Foster a collaborative working environment across all departments to ensure seamless integration and execution of projects.• Act as a liaison between the executive team and operational departments.• Risk Management• Oversee the risk management reporting framework to provide data for executive decisions.• Monitor and analyze key risk indicators and metrics to identify emerging risks and trends.• Report on risk management activities and outcomes to the executive team, providing recommendations for improvement and action.WHY WORK FOR GMRE?GMRE is a small veteran owned company who cares about each employee. GMRE complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding recruitment and hiring.All qualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other category protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.RequirementsREQUIRED SKILLS• Proven ability to foster a positive workplace culture and enhance employee engagement.• Experience in financial planning, forecasting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making.• Ability to analyze financial data and align business activities to achieve business objectives & goals.• Proven experience in developing and implementing cybersecurity strategies to protect company data and assets.• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for information security, including risk assessment and mitigation.• Strong leadership and people management skills.• Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE• Minimum of 10 years of experience in business operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.• Minimum of 5 years of experience with AS9100 and ISO 27001.• Experience in implementation / integration of Enterprise Systems (Benefits, HRIS, HCM, Accounting, ERP)• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale operations and driving operational excellence.• Experience in strategic planning, process improvement, and corporate financial management.• Practical experience implementing contractual requirements.• Familiarization with Human Resources requirements, employee development, recruiting, and retention.• Experience implementing and adhering to business quality methods and standards.• Awareness of corporate and program security requirements and implementation.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of operational directors and staff across various departments.• Set performance goals and objectives for direct reports, ensuring alignment with company goals.• Conduct regular performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and development plans.• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the team and across departments.• Promote a safe, inclusive, and productive work environment.REQUIRED EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred;equivalent experience in a relevant role may be considered.OTHER REQUIREMENTSTo conform to U.S. Government international trade regulations, applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.Driving or renting a car for company business is expected with some frequency.
