2025 Summer Machine Learning Research Intern

*Note: This position requires presence in our San Francisco office location 4 days per week; Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.

Join Lambda as a 2025 Summer Machine Learning Research Intern (on-site, between May - September) to advance generative AI by developing datasets, designing models, and enhancing evaluation methods. Leverage Lambda’s compute resources to produce impactful research through publications and open-source contributions.

Key Directions

  • Dataset: Develop datasets to support efficient and robust model training.

  • Model: Build and improve generative AI models to enhance performance and capabilities.

  • Evaluation: Set new standards for assessing generative AI’s performance.

Qualifications

Required

  • Ph.D. student in Computer Science or related field, focusing on machine learning.

  • Experience publishing in top-tier ML conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, Siggraph).

  • Skilled in PyTorch, or similar frameworks.

  • Strong communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Contributions to open-source projects.

  • Experience with generative AI (e.g., large language models, diffusion models, multi-modality models).

  • Experience with designing dataset pipelines and benchmarks.

  • Experience with training foundation models and optimizing the efficiency of ML workloads.

Salary Range Information 

Based on market data and other factors, the hourly rate for this position is $40.00-$70.00 per hour. However, an hourly rate higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
