Land Accountant

D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Land Accountant for their Accounting Department. The right candidate will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports; maintain budgets and projected costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Review job costs for budget variances, cost code errors, dollar amount errors on invoices, etc.
Review Gross Profit Margins of subdivisions
Land spreadsheet for payments
Run various reports and perform budget tracking
A/P related duties for Land Development items (i.e. Code and obtain approval of invoices)
Assist Land Development Project Manager with the bidding process:
- Preparing bid letters, accumulating plans to go with the bid letter, and inputting bids into a spreadsheet
Prepare vendor contracts, etc.
Assist vendors with any questions
Coordinate with agencies for permitting, insurance, bonds, assurance and close-out requirements for developments

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting (or related area of study) from four-year college or university; and two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
