RWE Clean Energy, LLC
The Large Correctives Process Optimization Specialist reports to the Manager of Large Correctives and supports the Supervisors in optimizing process, training, and the day-to-day operation of the Liftra Cranes and equipment, to assure safe, efficient, and uniform operations between all large Correctives teams, minimizing cost and optimizing performance in accordance with the Operations Mission Statement.
Responsibilities:

Assure that all operation and maintenance activities are performed in a safe manner, consistent with policies and procedures established for RWE and Large Correctives team.

Strong ability to assess, train and support a team. Share knowledge and develop a good working relationship with the LCT supervisors and individual team members for the successful optimization of established processes.

Review and present changes to current processes on how the team is performing up-tower major component replacements on our various turbine platforms, including GE, Siemens, Vestas, Gamesa, Acciona, and Mitsubishi replacements, and then:

Develop needed changes and present and get approval before implementing them into processes and procedures.

Provide needed training and awareness of any new optimization changes for any process and/or procedure to each team, consistently.

Support supervisors with the new Skills Matrix, in regards to technicians' current capability and create plans on what’s to be focused on next for each individual technician, to get them to continuously progress and learn.

Review and asses current processes of storage, maintenance, and handling of all Large Corrective tools and equipment and develop and roll out any changes that are deemed needed.

Develop checklists as seen fit for various processes/procedures/jobs that will help and secure all tasks and jobs are completed 100% and all equipment is accounted for and in good working condition each time.

Lead, train, and motivate personnel assigned to the major component replacement team.

Infield team observations are needed and required to assure each team gets assessed twice over the year and assuring current processes are followed as expected and if needed, changes are drafted and reported, then discussed and approved before implemented.

Self-motivator; Ability to work successfully, safely, and independently at remote wind farm locations.

Maintain your current CDL Class A License.

Maintain your current CO1+ LT1000 and LT1200 Certification.
-
Travel required up to 20% of the time.

All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
-
Six (6) years of overall experience with at least four (4) years in operations and/or maintenance of power generation and related facilities. Including a minimum of one(1) year working as a Lead or in a Supervisory position in wind or related industry.
- Turbine major component replacement experience is required.

Previous crane and rigging experience is required.
-
Experience across multiple manufacturers (i.e. Siemens, GE, Vestas, Mitsubishi) is strongly preferred.

Experience with RWE Large Correctives Team is strongly preferred.
- Travel is required for some of the time, with long and irregular work hours from time to time on various RWE and third-party wind sites throughout the US. Further travel will be required to other conferences and business meetings as necessary.

Primarily a field environment; may include hazardous conditions such as working at heights up to 300’, working in confined spaces, exposure to bloodborne pathogens, exposure to energized electrical and rotating equipment, and working in extreme hot and cold conditions.

Must pass a fit-for-duty medical examination upon hiring and every 2 years thereafter and maintain a body weight of 270 lbs or less. The work also requires flexibility and a full range of movement in confined spaces.

Must be able to maintain a personal weight limitation of 270 lbs.

Must be able to sit, walk or stand for a long duration of time.

Must be able to climb wind towers on a daily basis. During this task, employee must be able to open/close hatch doors and identify potential safety hazards.

Must have the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
-
Must be able to transfer fifty (50) pounds from a thirty-five-inch platform to the floor.
-
Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds for up to fifteen (15) feet.
-
Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds from ground to brow height.
-
Must be able to lift and transfer up to fifty (50) pounds to a thirty-five (35) inch platform.
-
Must be able to lift and carry twenty-five (25) pounds with one hand up to fifteen (15) feet.
-
Must be able to crouch, kneel, or ½ kneel for up to five (5) minutes at a time to perform maintenance tasks in low areas.
-
Must be able to perform fine motor tasks, such as screwing or unscrewing nuts and bolts, while reaching around and over objects.
-
Must be able to balance to: (1) work in closed and small swaying areas on top of and within wind towers, and (2) walk across small surface areas to access areas within wind turbines.

Must be able to military, belly, or back crawl up to fifteen (15) feet to access the nose cone area of wind turbines.

Must be able to step or climb up onto platform at a height of thirty-five (35) inches, with or without support.
