Senior Construction Accountant/Accounting Manager (Hybrid Flexible)

Position Summary:


The Senior Construction Accountant/Accounting Manager will oversee the financial activities and reporting for our construction projects. This role requires a deep understanding of construction accounting principles, job costing, and project financial management. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the construction industry and a proven track record of managing complex accounting functions within this sector. This position has flexibility for 1-2 days remote per week if needed.


Responsibilities:
  • Financial Management:
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting functions related to construction projects.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Job Costing:
  • Implement and maintain job costing systems to track project costs and profitability.
  • Analyze job cost reports and provide insights to project managers and senior leadership.
  • Ensure proper allocation of costs to specific projects and monitor budget variances.
  • Project Accounting:
  • Manage project billing, including progress billing and final billing, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
  • Oversee the preparation of construction project budgets and forecasts.
  • Collaborate with project managers to review project financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable:
  • Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor payments, including lien waivers and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor and resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes.
  • Compliance and Audit:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry-specific requirements.
  • Coordinate and support external audits and internal control reviews.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and identify professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment within the finance department.


$90,000 - $130,000 a year
