Position Summary:
The Shipyard Master Scheduler will play a critical role in the planning and execution of shipbuilding projects. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project schedules for the construction and repair of ships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ship design and construction, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams. Secret clearance required, onsite two days per week. Position is available at any shipyard on East Coast.
Responsibilities:- Schedule Development: Create and maintain detailed project schedules for shipbuilding and repair projects, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are clearly defined and tracked.
- Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and production teams to ensure alignment of schedules with project requirements and deadlines.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Continuously monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and develop mitigation strategies. Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on schedule status.
- Resource Management: Coordinate the allocation of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to ensure optimal efficiency and adherence to project timelines.
- Risk Management: Identify scheduling risks and work with the project team to develop contingency plans to address potential issues.
- Communication: Facilitate communication between various departments, ensuring that all parties are informed of schedule changes and project progress.
- Compliance: Ensure all scheduling practices comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in scheduling and project management practices, and implement changes as needed.
