Sr. Naval Acoustics Engineer (Hybrid)

Job Summary:

The Sr. Naval Acoustics Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of submarine acoustic systems. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the acoustic systems meet performance, reliability, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in underwater acoustics, signal processing, and submarine systems engineering. This is a 6 month contract to hire and has two days of remote work per week.

• Design and develop submarine acoustic systems, including sonar and acoustic communication systems.
• Conduct acoustic analysis and modeling to evaluate system performance.
• Perform signal processing and data analysis to optimize acoustic system functionality.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to integrate acoustic systems into submarine platforms.
• Conduct tests and evaluations of acoustic systems in laboratory and field environments.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
• Develop and document technical specifications, design documents, and test plans.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in underwater acoustics and related technologies.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and military specifications.
• Participate in design reviews, project planning, and risk assessments.
• Support the troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to acoustic systems.
