Job Title: Federal Digital/Web Project Manager

Location: Remote

Job Type: Full-Time


Job Summary:

The Federal Digital/Web Project Manager will lead and manage digital and web-based projects within a federal agency. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Federal Digital/Web Project Manager will also oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities:


Project Planning and Execution:

Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.

Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.

Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.

Team Management and Coordination:

Lead and motivate team members, ensuring that they have the tools, resources, and support necessary to complete their tasks.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and content creators.

Provide direction and support to project teams, including resolving any conflicts that may arise.

Budget and Resource Management:

Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.

Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes as necessary.

Manage project budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.

Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:

Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Ensure regular updates and clear communication with stakeholders about project status, potential issues, and proposed solutions.

Prepare and deliver project reports, proposals, and presentations to senior management and stakeholders.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

Ensure all projects adhere to federal guidelines, including compliance with relevant laws, policies, and regulations (e.g., Section 508, FISMA, etc.).

Conduct quality assurance on deliverables and ensure projects meet high standards of quality and usability.

Develop and implement best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Risk Management:

Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery.

Develop risk mitigation strategies and manage risk throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure contingency plans are in place for potential project disruptions.


Qualifications:


Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, or a related field.

PMP, CAPM, or other relevant project management certification preferred.

Experience:

Proven experience in project management, particularly in digital/web projects within a federal or public sector environment.

Strong knowledge of web technologies, digital strategies, and content management systems.

Experience with Drupal CMS is highly preferred.

Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.

Skills and Competencies:

Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or equivalent.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.

Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge:

Understanding of federal guidelines and regulations related to digital and web projects (e.g., Section 508, FISMA).

Experience ensuring project compliance with federal standards and policies.


$125,000 - $150,000 a year
