WORK SCHEDULE: To be determined
Major Responsibilities
-
Launders uniforms, aprons, mops, linens and other items associated with RIT Dining and RIT Catering
-
Maintains proper sanitation and cleanliness of laundry machines, laundry room, storage carts, racks, and floors.

Ensures proper sorting and storage of laundered goods.

Deliverers laundered goods to dining locations. removes soiled goods from locations
-
Delegates work duties and control work flow to ensure effective use of time
-
May receive and store supplies.

May clean or prepare various foods for cooking or serving.

May operate dish machine for RIT catering related events
-
Assist in training and supervising student employees on all Laundry and cleaning procedures including cleaning and sanitizing of equipment.

Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards. Serves as a good example for proper sanitation, cleaning and personal hygiene.

Adheres to and follows precautionary measures as they relate to safety in the work place

Reports all mechanical failures or uses to management

Performs monthly inventory for laundry operations

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
The Laundry attendant ensures proper washing, sanitation and handling of all laundered goods in accordance with department/unit procedures. Maintains work areas, equipment, and storage areas in clean and orderly condition.

High School/GED (or equivalent experience)

6 months of experience in a high volume restaurant, country club, or institutional setting
-
Servsafe certified or ability to obtain within six months of hire
Skills
-
Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals and detergents.

Ability to use Laundry Machines
-
Ability to work with and train student employees
-
Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets
-
Ability to work independently, under pressure and meet timelines
-
Ability to lift 50 lbs
