Thomas is looking for a Lead Data Scientist to lead and grow our data team. The Thomas data team is responsible for creating and maintaining the data pipelines that connect our products and business, as well as building models and datasets that provide insight to our customers and inform our internal business operations. The data team tackles challenges ranging from multi-channel media and customer experience optimization to identifying trends and creating models that predict change in the industrial economy. This is an opportunity to work with petabyte-scale data across a diverse set of data platforms. Key responsibilities for this role include:

Lead a team consisting of Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Data Engineers
- Drive design and implementation of internal as well as externally-facing data products, including the Thomas Industrial Data line of business
- Work with business stakeholders and data analysts across business units and functions to define, report, and monitor key performance indicators
- Take the lead in promoting a data-centric culture and approach to product and business operations and processes
Requirements:
Technical
- 7+ years experience in data science, machine learning and analytics
- A track record of leading a data team and driving cross-functional initiatives
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience with building data operations, preferable with Airflow
- Experience with building and maintaining data pipelines with strong data integrity
- Public-facing product experience
- Familiarity with statistical analysis/modeling, data science and data design
- Hands-on experience mining data for decision focused insights
- Background in predictive modeling and machine learning
- Experience with NoSQL databases and related tools
- Experience with Amazon AWS big data and machine learning technologies (RedShift, Sagemaker, Comprehend etc.)

- Ability to guide and lead a data analytics team of 5 – collaborate with both technical and non-technical colleagues in product management and executive leadership groups
- Ability to gauge the complexity of machine learning problems and a willingness to execute simple approaches for quick effective solutions as appropriate
