About the Team
The Engineering team at Clari is an Agile shop that practices Scrum across all of our teams. We layer in coordination practices such as Big Room Planning to stay aligned to Clari’s KPIs quarterly across sites and teams. About the Role
The Identity & API Foundations team is chartered to build many common frameworks and services across all Clari products. The focus is two fold: manage user identity, authentication, authorization and access management, along with driving API Governance, tooling, and automation for creating and managing APIs throughout the API lifecycle. We are looking for Staff Backend Software Engineers with a passion for building great products to lead the design and implementation of the services, frameworks and features that will benefit internal and external developers by accelerating software development and innovation. The responsibility of this role also extends to improving the performance, observability, and reliability of our systems as we rapidly scale our product and organization.
In this role, you’ll have an opportunity to make a big impact in Clari by building products of very high value to customers, evolving the technology stack to support the next phase of company growth, and by introducing and improving engineering tooling, best practices, and processes.
This is a fully remote opportunity and can be worked from any location in the United States.

Design and build products, platforms, frameworks, and services used by both Clari engineers as well as external developers to accelerate application development

Collaborate with architects, product managers, and other engineers to design and build highly scalable, distributed systems

Help shape and implement the architecture and roadmap of Clari’s product backend services and systems

Identify friction points in development processes and lead initiatives to overcome them

Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack, and influence efforts to uplevel the observability and reliability of the overall system

Shape the future of engineering across Clari by evangelizing best practices, improving standards, and guiding teams towards achieving their fullest potential

Mentor junior engineers to set and maintain high standards of engineering excellence while helping to grow their careers
- 8+ years or more of experience building customer-facing large-scale products or systems using Java or other object-oriented languages

Experience with relational and non-relational databases

Experience designing and building distributed systems

Experience designing APIs, building data models, and efficient algorithms

Experienced working across engineering teams and explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers

Prior experience in identity management and API governance is a bonus

It is Clari’s intent to pay all Clarians competitive wages and salaries that are motivational, fair, and equitable. The goal of Clari’s compensation program is to be transparent, attract potential employees, meet the needs of all current employees and encourage employees to stay and grow at Clari.
Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to specific work location, skill set, depth of experience, education and certifications.
The salary range for this position is $168,800 to $253,100. The compensation package for this position also includes stock options and company-paid benefits, including well-being and professional development stipends.
