Lead Storekeeper

Provide work direction and training for assigned employees while performing all work assignments relating to the warehouse with a high degree of skill and responsibility; and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Three years of experience as a Storekeeper or equivalent work experience is required.

Possess a strong working knowledge of inventory and warehouse procedures and related applications, including Materials Management Information System, Oracle Min-Max planning, Material Requisitions, Work Management System, Work Management Information System, Discoverer reporting; company stock classification catalog; inspection procedures; company forms and equipment; Company Standard Practices, Chart of Accounts Manuals, and other departmental procedures; problem-solving techniques; supervision techniques including planning, scheduling, utilizing, and handling of employee technical problems, safety and emergency procedure and exhibit leadership abilities; basic mathematics. Intermediate knowledge of computer and PC based applications, including Microsoft applications.

TYPICAL JOB FUNCTION

  • Provide work direction and training to assigned employees
  • Assist with contractor material requirements
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of warehouse duties
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and other financial processes within department
  • Advise and assist all personnel in correct identification and acquisition of required material and recommend possible substitution for non-stocked items
  • Coordinate inventory requirements for large and special projects
  • Manage surplus, slow and no move inventory items
  • Assist division/district warehouses locations with technical knowledge and inventory requirements as requested
  • Maintain Emergency Stock levels
  • Coordinate reclaimed material activities
  • Review inventory systems (min-max, reorder point planning applications) to ensure material replenishment is timely and inventory turns meet established expectations
  • Maintain periodic contact with local suppliers from whom purchases of direct items are made to ensure proper pricing and stocking of materials
  • Inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet company specifications
  • Process purchase orders and other procurement documents according to applicable policies and procedure in an accurate and timely manner
  • Coordinate inventory returns and recalls to the appropriate supplier, including effective communication, documentation and disposal procedures when applicable
  • Utilize Wireless Data Terminals (WDT) while performing inventory transactions
  • Plan, direct, and perform housekeeping in the warehouse and surrounding areas
  • Reconcile MMIS cycle count/physical inventory discrepancies
  • Operate MMIS /Oracle application
  • Oversee and conduct cycle counting process
  • Load and unload delivery trucks utilizing work equipment
  • Operate all warehouse equipment
  • Complete all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
  • Perform various functions required of the lower classifications
  • Promote strong internal/external customer relations
  • Promote safe work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Meet and maintain the strenuous physical requirements of the position.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and/or other special licenses/certifications
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain materials shipping certification (Ship-mate Training).
  • Must be available to perform shift work, staggered workweek, including recognized holidays.
  • Must be available to work overtime.
  • Must be able to wear a complete company-issued uniform.
  • Must be able to wear and use all personal protective safety equipment as operating conditions dictate.
  • Must be able to work in another location, district or department.
  • Must be able to work outdoors, exposed to extremes in temperatures and conditions.
  • May be exposed to natural gas during the course of work.
  • Must successfully complete all aspects of required training.
  • Must comply with company rules of general conduct, company policies and procedures.

SALARY DETAILS

$28.43 - $37.42
