Thompson Creek is looking for a* Leadership Development Training Specialist* to join our team.
The Leadership Development Training Specialist is responsible for leading the training program for all leadership, soft skills and customer service-related trainings. The Leadership Development Training Specialist will develop, deliver, maintain, and evaluate the effectiveness of communications and systems training and relevant materials. This position will also be responsible for process and procedure documentation for these areas, that will come to life in training. The expected outcome is the strengthened leadership and management throughout Thompson Creek in line with organizational values.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Uses expert knowledge of customer service, leadership and management to collaborate, develop, deliver and maintain training to the new and existing managers and leaders.
- Responsible for the development, delivery and maintenance of a tiered management and leadership academy.
- Develop and maintain consistent training materials, including participant guides, facilitator guides, reference materials, exercises and handouts, and course evaluations.
- Proactively use technology and industry best practices to design engaging and interactive courses for adult learners in an on-line or in classroom methods.
- Creates and manages relevant training content, materials, and updates in the learning management system. Maintains activities in the Learning Management System.
- Assesses knowledge, skills, and needs to provide ongoing training to refresh and enhance skills.
- Provides feedback and coaching to supported staff.
- Consults with leadership on issues, gaps, and needs, developing strategic solutions to advance leadership and management training and development.
- Travels to new markets to support leadership growth and development.
- Applies knowledge of adult learning concepts and classroom learning techniques to ensure training achieves the desired outcome.
- Develop and deliver training in traditional, alternative, and blended learning approaches, including instructor-led classroom, webinars, remote/virtual training, and train-the-trainer classes for teams of trainers and end-users.
- Coordinate’s logistics and classroom experience for training sessions.
- Provides reporting and analysis on results and effectiveness of trainings through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); develops and implements recommendations to refine training course and content accordingly.
- Participates in training meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Education & Experience : Bachelor’s degree (in related technical field) or equivalent, and 5 years of training experience within leadership and management, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred experience in the construction or home improvement industry.
- Other: Must have the ability to develop expert knowledge of company products and methodologies. Must have the ability to develop management and leadership skills. Experience with adult learning.
- Computer Skills: Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office automation tools, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Advanced skills using Articulate Storyline.
