This position will include non-traditional work hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays depending on the needs of the university community.
Some positions will have permanent overnight shifts.
Flexibility is required to ensure the department is appropriately staffed in order to satisfy all service needs.
Professional development, conferences, and training may require travel and/or overnight accommodations

Job Summary
The Learning Resources Librarian provides leadership in leveraging library resources to impact textbook affordability, including managing the course reserves program. Working closely with other members of the Open Educational Resources Department, this position fosters outreach and builds faculty relationships to support the adoption or development of course materials that are made available at no cost to students. This is a non-tenure track position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees course reserves with both electronic and print library resources, including vending machines and RFID system for reserves.
- Advises users on copyright, fair use of library resources, and open licensing.
- Evaluates accessibility of library resources and works with vendors as necessary to remediate content to ensure all students have equal access to course materials.
- Identifies opportunities for OER outreach based on course reserve requests.
- Provides consultations to aid discovery and use of library resources as course materials based on library resources available at no additional cost to students.
- Conducts trainings, workshops, and other outreach programs to advocate for college affordability and overall student success.
- Collaborates with Acquisitions specialists, Director of Access and Discovery, and Director of Assessment to review and evaluate collection development needs and impacts.
- Collaborates with campus partners to improve communication and awareness of library-licensed content and related accessibility services.

Acts as subject liaison to academic department(s). Includes providing information literacy instruction, student research consultations, and faculty research support.
Performs other duties assigned.
The library has various locations across campus.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited institution or related graduate degree.
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Proficiency in Windows Operating System and file management.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of experience in MARC cataloging.
- One (1) year of experience with library reserves operations.
- One (1) year of experience with RFID technologies in library settings.
- Experience with copyright, fair use, and/or open licensing needs in a university setting.
- Experience with Open Educational Resources and other no/low cost course material options.
- Knowledge of common accessibility barriers and experience of evaluating and addressing them.
- One (1) year of experience with Alma, a Unified Resource Management system.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and work effectively in a team environment.
