We are looking for a human-first, detail-oriented, and creative Learning Specialist to join the Alma team; someone with a deep commitment to learning and growth. In this role, you will report to the Learning & Development Manager and play a pivotal role in helping facilitate, design, and implement training programs for all Alma employees. You will eventually oversee our New Hire training (Day 1 Orientation, Compliance training, etc) and provide continuous support to other learning programs such as Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training initiatives, manager training, and skills training. You will be a key part of our new Learning & Development team where we are beginning to plan, scope, design, and implement new training programs.
What you’ll do:
- Support the Learning and Development Manager in designing, facilitating, evaluating, and managing training programs across the organization
- Facilitate training to employees at all levels within the organization including leading our bi-weekly New Hire Orientation
- Serve as a Learning Management System (LMS) administrator
- Maintain the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and LMS learning records in partnership with a People Operations Specialist (including adding new hires, removing terms, managing learner groups and enrollments, managing rosters, etc.)
- Upload new courses and maintain learning curricula
- Manage the learning course catalog in the LMS including the administration and management of courses and online resources
- Create, run and analyze reports for compliance and metrics reporting
- Support L&D Manager in designing and developing learner facing materials such as job aids, toolkits, video tutorials, elearnings and session materials
- Evaluate learning effectiveness through passive and active data analysis and surveying, and recommend actions based on the data in partnership with the L&D Manager
- Demonstrate flexibility and agility in reacting to changing business needs
Who you are:
- You have 1-2+ years of experience in a Learning & Development role including direct exposure to training (i.e. facilitation, instructional design, and Learning Management System)
- You have experience facilitating virtual trainings using a meeting tool such as Zoom or Google Meets
- You have experience as an administrator in a Learning Management System (we use Docebo); specifically with user management, course & enrollment management, completion reporting and tracking
- You have knowledge of adult learning theories and principles to design effective learning programs for adult learners
- You have experience in developing training materials (slide decks, job aids, facilitator guides, etc.).
- You have a strong eye for visual and professional appeal and are passionate about building engaging and interactive learning experiences that aligns with our brand
- You have an awareness of and sensitivity to cultural and diversity-related considerations in training and development
- You have strong project management experience and are able to simultaneously manage multiple projects with different stakeholders
- You have a strong attention to detail and are a self-starter with the ability to learn quickly

Salary Band: $85,000 - $110,000
