At CESO, an Architect is responsible for leading the building design effort from start to finish and manages the production of building construction documents in accordance with laws and regulations. Architects interact with Project Managers and clients to understand their needs and work to ensure that the design is safe, useful, and aesthetically pleasing. You will have primary responsibilities that include: 


Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage architectural projects from preparation of concepts and design development through complete construction documentation that includes specifications, materials, colors, furnishings, fixtures, equipment, and estimated costs
  • Perform site visits and field measurements as required to document existing conditions for projects
  • Define and communicate project scope, objectives, and schedule to staff and clients. This could include soliciting partner proposals for SMEP
  • Perform life-safety analysis and code reviews of existing and new builds to ensure design will comply with current codes
  • Lead the due diligence research and permit submission process
  • Develop project schedules and coordinate construction documentation
  • Coordinate with clients and vendors having jurisdiction over projects to ensure policies and performance measures
  • Facilitate project meetings and communicate findings internally to design partners and make external presentation to Planning and Zoning Boards
  • Develop and lead RFIs, shop drawings, pay application reviews, site observations and/or final site SF verification surveys
  • Motivate team members through mentoring, coaching, and training to assist in professional development
  • Understanding of basic building codes, code organization and how to determine code requirements for a project
  • Perform other project duties as assigned


Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture with 4+ years of experience with a current registration or in lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience in Architecture with a current registration
  • Architectural License (active)
  • Accredited LEED Certification preferred
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge in Photo Editing Software
  • Strong understanding of building design and entitlement process
